The program went from "weight problem" to "security problem" by leaving out valves and panels, they test for flying condition for 8000 hours, but landing and starting is a planes most dangerous occupation, until it actually flies combat missions. Then they started to cut corners once they figured out, they run into cost problems as well. And how many "retro fixes" will be necessary, and how many Air forces can afford to taxi their protecting force to a "Lockheed dealership" during war?
